🌍 Golyan Tunnel, China
1️⃣ The Guoliang Tunnel, located in the Taihang Mountains of Henan Province in China, was carved by the villagers themselves. This incredible engineering feat was undertaken to provide access to the outside world for the isolated Guoliang village.
2️⃣ Construction of the tunnel began in 1972 and took five years to complete. It is 1.2 kilometers long, 5 meters tall, and 4 meters wide, with windows cut out of the cliff to provide light and ventilation.
3️⃣ The Guoliang Tunnel is known as one of the "most dangerous roads in the world" due to its narrow path and the sheer drop-offs outside the windows, making it a popular destination for thrill-seeking tourists.
