The MINISFORUM S100 miniature PC has been tested in games.
On the YouTube-channel ETA PRIME appeared a video dedicated to testing the MINISFORUM S100 mini-PC in a case the size of a smartphone. According to the authors of the video, despite its modest size, the novelty is suitable not only for everyday work, but also for running games - even if not the newest ones.
"The heart" of the mini-PC was a processor Intel N100 (4 cores / 4 threads) with a maximum clock speed of 3.4 GHz. In addition, the configuration of the device includes 8 GB of LPDDR5-4800 RAM and a 256 GB UFS 2.1 drive. For peripheral connectivity, there are two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and one each for USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, Ethernet and HDMI 2.0. For wireless communication are responsible for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 modules.
Bloggers paid special attention to the gaming capabilities of the computer. As it turned out, MINISFORUM S100 pulls both modern indie games and hits of the past years without any problems. For example, in Hades 2 at 1080p resolution the device produced 60 fps, and such games as DiRT 3, Left 4 Dead 2 and Fallout 3 were stable and freeze-free.
The authors of the video noted that the mini-PC will also be a good system for emulating older consoles (including Dreamcast, PlayStation Portable and GameCube). At the same time, they praised the device's low power consumption: its TDP in idle mode is 2.1W, and in games and emulation - about 11W on average.
